I recently picked up a copy of Vegan with a Vengeance and have been subjecting H to a lot of vegan cooking lately. It's a very good cookbook, whether you're vegan or not. There is a nightly pattern that occurs: I tell her what is for dinner, she gripes about weird vegan cooking, she eats dinner and likes it, she gripes about me cooking too well and her eating too much. I figure unless she wants to cook she gets to live with my dietary whims. I'm not vegan by the way, but as far as diet goes I'm leaning more that direction. I'm not likely to give up cheese, eggs, or fish anytime soon, but for a while it seemed like I was mostly living off eggs and cheese and that wasn't good either.
